Who
Companies and company founders based in Vienna can submit their projects under departure classic. Those who cooperate over a specific period in the scope of a project may file a joint submission. Other legal entities may as well participate in this joint submission as long as one company or company founder acts as lead partner.
What
The funded projects primarily focus on innovations regarding the development, marketing and commercial exploitation of products, processes or services. Artistic/creative content and economic sustainability are core prerequisites.

- Maximum cash allowance of 200,000 euros per project

An independent jury of experts decides whether a project is granted funding.

departure focus: Cooperation
Once a year departure focus picks up on a current development of the creative industries. 2012 departure funds projects with a predominantly creative content focusing on the development of innovative products, processes or services which are planned and implemented in a cooperative way by companies of the creative industries and the classic economy.

departure pioneer
Rely on your creative ideas and on departure pioneer and start your own business.
Who
departure pioneer addresses persons with entrepreneurial skills with a creative idea as a basis for their business start-up. The target group are Viennese company founders or young entrepreneurs of the creative industries who have established a company not longer than 12 months prior to the date of submission or who plan to do so within 6 months from the date of submission.
What
Funding criteria
- Innovative and creative business start-up
- Feasibility of the business concept
- Entrepreneurial personality and pioneering spirit
- Serious entrepreneurial ambitions
- Synergies for and promotion of the image of Vienna as a business and cultural city
Funding is granted for
- Consulting fees for the development of a detailed business idea: legal and tax consulting, consulting in the areas of PR and marketing etc.
- Material costs for the development of prototypes, sample collections and pilot projects
- Other material costs, e.g. for marketing expenses for first catalogues, websites, presentations at trade fairs
- Personnel expenses (from the founding of the company onwards)
- Proportionate investment costs accruing during business start-up

Minimum assessment basis: 5,000 EUR

Who
departure experts supports growing companies of the creative industries based in Vienna. Funding is granted for specific projects or initiatives which enhance the growth of a company and which sustainably increase its competitiveness. Valuable support is provided by qualified experts.
What
Funding criteria
- Innovative and creative business concept
- Significant growth initiative and growth potential
- The consulting services must contribute significantly to the success of the project
- Previous creative and commercial successes
- Synergies for and promotion of the image of Vienna as a business and cultural city
Funding is granted for
Consulting services rendered by experts of departure’s expert pool in the following areas:
- Preparation and evaluation of a business concept/business plan
- Legal and tax consulting
- Financial and liquidity consulting
- Development of a cooperation strategy and/or partnering
- Organization and management
- Development of products and services
- Marketing and PR, branding, communication design and distribution
- Mentor services
Funding is furthermore granted for the implementation of first steps resulting from such consulting services in an amount of at maximum 30 percent of the costs submitted for funding.
